If you are looking for a special kind of family vacation, the Sottrum Family Park in Lower Saxony is the place for you. Since 2014, the park has been offering the opportunity to rent an imaginative little house – and the tree houses are probably the most charming accommodations. You can find the opening times for 2026 here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

The three little tree houses<\/h2>\n\n

The quaint little houses at the Baumhaushotel Sottrum stand on stilts in the small forest above the restaurant and offer sleeping space for two large and two small guests. Each house is dedicated to a special theme. <\/p>\n\n

Star house<\/strong> – This house is just the thing for all stargazers. The terrace offers space for two people to stargaze with a fold-out lounger. The house itself sparkles in every corner and the imaginative interior design ensures a heavenly night’s sleep. <\/p>\n\n

Jungle house<\/strong> – All adventurers sleep well here. The entrance is guarded by a cobra. A small elephant provides light and the colorful jungle bedding creates the perfect ambience. <\/p>\n\n

Witch’s house<\/strong> – This house is for those who don’t want to climb steep stairs to get into their house, as it is not built on stilts as high as the other two houses, but just above the ground. <\/p>\n\n

Equipment of the three small tree houses in the tree house hotel Sottrum<\/h3>\n\n

All three houses have a double bed (1.6 x 2 m) and a smaller double bed for children (1.2 x 1.8 m with sloping roofs at the head and foot ends), which can be reached via a ladder. The houses have an electricity connection so that you are never left in the dark in the evening, and the built-in heating ensures that you are warm from the first to the last day of the season. Sockets have also been provided so that you can easily charge your cell phone or make yourself a cup of tea – a kettle is available. Each house has a covered outdoor seating area. <\/p>\n\n

The Wipfelhaus at the Baumhaushotel Sottrum – for larger groups<\/h2>\n\n

If you are traveling with a larger group or family, the Wipfelhaus is the perfect accommodation for you. The Wipfelhaus is the largest tree house with a spacious terrace, watering can shower and sleeping space for 7 people – 4 on the lower floor and 3 on the upper floor. <\/p>\n\n

The sleeping area on the upper floor is 1.8 meters wide and 2 meters long. On the lower floor, two beds are 0.6 \u00d7 2 m and the other two are 0.6 \u00d7 1.8 m. There is plenty of storage space under the upper bed so that you can easily stow suitcases, cool bags and everything else. <\/p>\n\n

An important difference to the three small tree houses: Please bring sleeping bags for your overnight stay – only sheets are included in the price in the Wipfelhaus.<\/p>\n\n

Practical tips (for all houses)<\/h2>\n\n

The prices already include: Park admission for the day of arrival and departure, bed linen, towels, final cleaning, electricity and parking. (At the Wipfelhaus: sheets instead of bed linen, no towels). <\/p>\n\n

You can move into your house at the Baumhaushotel Sottrum from 3 pm and the key must be returned by 10 am on the day of departure. A rental deposit of 50 euros is required. <\/p>\n\n

The showers are located at the entrance to the park about 150 meters away. Shower tokens cost \u20ac1. The toilets are only a few meters away via a short flight of stairs to the restaurant. <\/p>\n\n

It is not possible to drive directly in front of the house by car. If available, a handcart can be borrowed free of charge for one hour to transport your luggage. Dogs are not allowed in the houses. <\/p>\n\n
