Treetop Walk in Northern Slovenia

The barrier-free Pohorje Treetop Walk is located on the summit of Mount Rogla at an altitude of 1,517 meters in the middle of the Pohorje mountain range in northern Slovenia. It is located southwest of Maribor in the densely forested low mountain range of northern Slovenia. The entire path up to the The 37-metre-high observation tower with a hexagonal layout is around one kilometer long and includes several adventure stations. The maximum gradient is 6% and is therefore also accessible to people in wheelchairs or families with strollers. Inside the observation tower, there is a 62-meter-long slide. From the observation tower, you can enjoy a view as far as the Stainer Alps on a clear day.

At several experience stations on the Pohorje treetop trail, which opened in 2019, you will learn about natural processes in the forest, how it can be protected and what the forest and its inhabitants need to live and thrive. You can buy tickets online here or at the ticket office immediately before entering the trail. Payment can be made in cash or by debit or credit card.

To reach the treetop path by car, leave the highway at the Slovenske Konjice exit and follow the signs to Rogla for about 25 km. There are plenty of free parking spaces there. Of course, there are disabled parking spaces right in front of the entrance to the trail.

Well.. this is an experience. Purchasing tickets online make no sense, you buy them online, you get the tickets to your email (lit. the file is called Vstopnice.pdf meaning Tickets.pdf) and you cannot enter because, you need to take the tickets you got, to the line where everybody else purchases tickets to get your tickets scanned and printed out again. You profit absolutely nothing by buying them online (the price is also the same), it's actually an extra unnecessary step - why is it there probably only the CEO knows since nobody else understands this either :).We went at night and apart from a few lights nothing special. I am sure it's better to go during the day when you can most likely see at least 20km around, since the tower is pretty high. Be careful if going during the winter, there is ice on the paths, the only warning about it is at the exit 🙂 it would probably be a bit better so open the piggy bank and salt the path every hour or so. We got a few yoyo's from the gift shop that all fell apart after playing with them for 3-5min (you can put them back together no worries, but the quality is really not that great).Overall, really not that of an enjoyable experience. Kids did have fun on the trampoline thou so it was bearable.P.S. If you come during the day, be sure to buy the coins to operate the binoculars at the front desk first. Otherwise, you will have to walk all over the place again, to buy the coins that you can put into the machine.

Sometimes the best classrooms have no walls. This was journey seen from a birds-eye POV. It was educational, interactive and adventurous. Treetop Walk Pohorje had a few surprises hidden for us. Interactive activities along the wooden path some 20 m above ground. Trampolines both on the path and inside the Lookout Tower. But the best one was the 62 m long slide from 37 m height. Little too fast for me, but it was worth the adrenaline rush that came after. I highly recommend it for one day family trip. Remark reguarding slide: you need to take sacks for sliding down the slide at the entrance of the Lookout Tower. Otherwise you will have to go down again just to get them. 🤣

No information! They close at 16:00 And they open again at 17:00BUT THERE ARE NOOO INFO ABOUT IT (anywhere) I dont understand the whole idea…. Why they close, why don’t inform they the tourist… I am so sad (You can watch it from 5 o'clock with the lights on. btw there is no info about this either) The sunset would have been beautiful from the lookout 🙁

The path is nice, the view from top is great but the walk is short. You can see everything in 30 min. The ticket is 15e per person, so it feels a bit overpriced.

The entrance fee is €15 per person. You can go on a slide from the top of the tower and it costs additional €2. I thought it was going to be included in the entrance fee but it wasn't. I think the walk is a bit overpriced. We still had a wonderful experience nevertheless. The view from the top is amazing. The whole walk itself doesn't take much time but you can stop for a while to bounce on the nets inside the tower. That was super fun. We even got the chance to see some cows underneath. Cool experience but pretty pricey.
