The Baumhaushotel Samerberg offers you an exclusive vacation apartment in the middle of the Bavarian countryside that will make your overnight stay an unforgettable experience. The Riedl family runs a Demeter dairy farm on their traditional Talerhof farm and has been welcoming guests to this extraordinary tree house just a few kilometers from Lake Chiemsee since 2016.

The cozy vacation apartment covers 48 m² and offers space for up to 6 people. The furnishings leave nothing to be desired: A fully equipped kitchen, shower/WC, high-quality solid wood furniture and underfloor heating ensure your comfort.
As a special highlight, you can roll the double bed out onto the balcony and spend the night under the stars. In the large gallery, two additional double beds await you directly under the skylights, through which you can watch the stars at night.
Every day you can also enjoy a fresh farmer’s breakfast with top-quality regional products, delivered right to your door and hoisted up to the terrace with a pulley.

Digital detox in nature
The motto is “Back to nature” – the tree house deliberately does without television, radio and internet. So you can really switch off and enjoy the peace and quiet. The stylish stilt house is about 200 meters from the farm, secluded and surrounded by untouched nature. The magnificent view of the Samerberg mountain landscape is free of charge.
Activities around the tree house
The Samerberg is a paradise for hikers and mountain bikers – numerous routes start right on the doorstep. You can reach your local mountain, the Hochries, either on foot or comfortably by chairlift from Grainbach. For action fans, there is the Bikepark Samerberg, and on hot days, the Samerberger Filze natural swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off.
If you are looking for relaxation, the host family even offers forest bathing with daughter Barbara Riedl. You can treat yourself to Bavarian delicacies in the cozy Samerberg inns.

Two nights as a wedding gift. There were four of us and everything was perfect! Thank you for your hospitality! Great surroundings, cozy furnishings, and everything you need is provided. We would have liked a bit more variety and choice at breakfast, but everything was fresh and locally sourced. Highly recommended!

Family with a toddler: Mixed review

- Little to no hospitality!
The hostess was unavailable, and there was no response to our answering machine messages (we were very late arriving and wanted to know where to best get something to eat for our daughter). Our 1.5-year-old daughter was registered, but no bed was made for her/no high chair or similar was available. We couldn't ask by phone whether the electrical outlets were child-safe. There wasn't even an egg for our daughter at breakfast (only upon request on the second day), and as a vegetarian, there were no vegetables or fruit at breakfast.

Mr. Riedel was friendly to us.SUMMARY: We didn't feel comfortable or welcome. As a family, we can't recommend the place and will certainly not come again. It's a shame!

A very pleasant stay.We felt comfortable from the very first moment.The "treehouse" is of very high quality.The furnishings are very lovingly and personally designed.The inventory was purchased specifically for this location (unlike in many vacation rentals, where it's leftover or no longer needed).The breakfast was ample, healthy, and delicious.It's very quiet, and you can relax from the moment you arrive.The stay isn't cheap, but it's worth the price.The hosts are very kind, friendly, and unobtrusive.And if you like cats, you'll be visited by the cuddly tomcat "Elvis."Thank you very much.

A hideaway that couldn't be better: high above the Chiemgau region in the tranquility of Samerberg. Everything in the treehouse is made from natural materials and lovingly handcrafted or hand-selected. Even in the colder months, the treehouse is a dream: cozy underfloor heating and countless blankets and pillows keep the frost at bay. Although it's hard to resist the temptation to grab a blanket and sit on the panoramic balcony to enjoy the mountain views. We thank the very friendly Riedl family for the wonderful time.
