High up on the Schaumberg above Schalkau in southern Thuringia, the former knight’s estate and manor Domäne Schaumburg houses the “Luftikus” treehouse. A 45-square-meter treehouse with separate living and sleeping areas as well as a sleeping loft for up to four people. The treehouse offers a fantastic view of the valley and the southern Thuringian landscape. On the farm, sheep, goats, chickens, and runner ducks provide a rural atmosphere. Right next to it is a historic castle ruin as an additional excursion destination. A small sauna on the grounds can be booked for an extra charge, and a Thuringian country breakfast with eggs from the farm’s own chickens can also be added.
