The Baumzipfelweg Saalbach Hinterglemm is the highest treetop trail in Europe. It spans one kilometer, with its scenic centerpiece being a 600-meter-long treetop path made of solid larch wood featuring stairs, towers, platforms, and bridges, up to 30 meters above the forest floor.

The Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps

The trail includes the Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps. It is 200 meters long, up to 42 meters high, and spans the end of the valley at the source of the Saalach river. As you cross, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the mountain scenery and look down at the high ropes park, with courses running alongside and beneath the bridge.

The journey there is part of the experience

This nature-filled circular trail starts at the Talschluss parking lot and leads two kilometers through alpine pastures, meadows, and forests to the Lindlingalm, where the Baumzipfelweg begins. In summer, you can also take the Talschluss train for the way there and back; in winter, you can go on foot or take a horse-drawn sleigh through the snowy landscape.

Wipfelzipfel’s themed play stations and the low ropes park along the way are included in the admission. At the low ropes park, you can climb, balance, and swing across rope and bridge structures close to the ground. Strollers must be left at the entrance due to the many steps, and the grated flooring is not suitable for dogs, though they can wait in the entrance area. If the ticket counter is unattended, a coin-operated machine is available.
