Even from a distance, they shine through the deciduous forest: five colorful wooden houses on stilts, right on the shore of Lake Sorpe in the Sauerland region. Clara, Nils, Michel, Nele and Ylvie are the names of the tree houses on Lake Sorpe and each has its own color. If you know the hidden footpath above the Swedish houses, you will end up in a wooded bay that feels much quieter than the main area of the vacation park. Surrounded by old beech trees with a direct view of the lake, it’s easy to switch off here.
15 steps lead up to the tree houses on Lake Sorpe, which offer around 55 square meters of space for up to five people. The floor plan is the same for all five houses: downstairs you will find a combined living and dining area with kitchenette, bathroom and an 11 square meter viewing terrace with a view of the lake. A wooden staircase takes you to the sleeping floor with a double bed and three single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped, from stove and oven to dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine, toaster and electric grill. Outside, there is a terrace where you can end the evening with a view of the lake. From April to October, you can also use a canoe including life jackets free of charge.

Those of you looking for even more relaxation can book a mobile sauna barrel, which is delivered directly to the tree houses. Two restaurants nearby, Meilenweit and WOOHOO, ensure that you don’t have to cook for yourself if you don’t want to. There is a practical arrangement for families with dogs: Dogs are welcome in the Clara tree house for a small extra charge. The other four houses (Nils, Michel, Nele and Ylvie) are designed to be allergy-friendly and remain pet-free. The Sorpesee vacation park was awarded second place in the Fixed Accommodation category of the Campsite Award 2026.

My family and I had the Milla cottage booked for 7 days. The property and location its self is fantastic, the cottage was clean and had a fantastic view of the lake with goal posts right in front. We were very happy staying here for a week. However, the customer service from the women working at the property was far from perfect, they were rude and unhelpful. When my dad asked if there is anything we could do with left over food as we will have to bin it alternatively the woman responded with “what sort of people are you, there’s starving people all over the world and you decide to bin food” however failed to tell us if there is anywhere we can donate or whether we can leave the food. Which consisted of coffee, sugar, salt pepper etc. We were then notified that we were not getting our 150€ deposit back due to leaving the dishwasher on as it was cleaning the dishes. We were told that we would have gotten our deposit back if we had emptied the dishwasher and put the dishes back in the cupboards. Surely leaving the property clean and tidy is the whole purpose of getting a deposit back. It seems that they look for any small reason not to return the deposit. I also would not bother buying anything from the kiosk as a bottle of juice and 3 ice creams cost 40€.

Great place for a lovely holiday or a long weekend as pensioner i could not afford the Restaurant but the cafe was very good .The staff were very friendly and helpful to me and my grandchildren. You could hire E Bicycle for a very good price. And the water was very nice and cooling in the hot weather. We will be staying there again next year. We hope.

Very nice place! Beautiful view, very quite and relaxing. If you want to take a trip with your bike or just want to have a quiet vocation, this is the place for you! You can rent a house direktly at the lake. Having a nice BBQ at the lake, taking in the beautiful view really does the trick.
You also can rent some boats and relax on the lake! Have a good time.
