Deep in the Bingen Forest, at an altitude of over 585 meters in the Hunsrück, three tree houses hang between the trees around the Lauschhütte forester’s lodge. What awaits you here is not a comfort hotel in the countryside, but a real forest adventure: pack your sleeping bag, don’t forget your flashlight and head up into the treetops. The Baumhaushotel Lauschhütte is located on stage 5 of the Soonwaldsteig and is therefore also an official trekking camp for hikers who want to spend a night outdoors before the last stage to Bingen.
The three tree houses, Erlebnest, Lodge and Buchennest, are all located at a height of around 6 meters on the edge of the climbing forest. Each has its own character. What they all have in common is that you bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Sanitary facilities and washing facilities are available in the catering building of the Lauschhütte, there is no separate kitchen. If you want to cater for yourself, bring your own food. Those who prefer to relax can use the on-site catering facilities. The tree houses can be booked from April to October. Check-in is daily from 2 pm to 6 pm.
There is plenty to experience around the Lauschhütte tree house hotel: The Lauschhütte outdoor park’s climbing forest is just around the corner, and in the evenings a campfire provides the perfect forest atmosphere. The site is ideal for families, but also for couples looking for a night away from everyday life. Take a look at the park map for an overview of all the possibilities. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the tree houses for safety reasons.
Experience nest
This experience is the purist adventure among the three tree houses. You sleep like in a cocoon at a height of 6 meters above the forest floor. The sleeping capsule hangs freely between the trees and sways slightly in the wind, adding to the special atmosphere. It is reached via a platform with a ladder. The experience nest offers space for two adults or one adult with two children. From 60 euros per night.
Lodge
The lodge is the latest addition to the tree houses at the Lauschhütte and offers the most space with up to four sleeping places. Three fixed sleeping places plus an extra bed, all at a height of around 6 meters. The lodge is a good choice for families or small groups who want to spend a night together in the forest. From 60 euros per night.
Beech nest
The beech nest was built directly around the trunk of an old beech tree, which gives it a particularly natural feel. At a height of approx. 6 meters and protected from wind and weather, it offers space for two adults or one adult with two children. If you’re looking for a night that really feels like sleeping in the forest, this is the place for you. From 60 euros per night.
