Treetop trail and squirrel trail at Lake Edersee

The Edersee treetop walk, which opened in 2010, is a great leisure experience for young and old in close touch with nature. It is located on the southern shore of Lake Edersee in Hesse and offers magnificent views across the lake over a length of 250 metres. Various guided tours can be booked and there are special offers for larger groups. The treetop walk is located on the edge of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. This covers 7,688 hectares and is intended to protect the local red beech forest. UNESCO declared selected areas of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park a World Heritage Site in summer 2011! The area is one of the few remaining large areas of natural acidophilous beech forest in Germany. A visit to the treetop walk and the national park can be easily combined.

The Treetopwalk Baumwipfelpfad Edersee is complemented by the 750 m long Squirrel Trail. At various stations, the forest ecosystem is explained to you from the squirrels’ perspective. explained. The entire park is barrier-free and therefore suitable for both wheelchair users and pushchairs. The maximum gradient on the paths is 6%. There is also a disabled toilet available.

The Edersee treetop walk is currently open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Last entry is 1 hour before closing time, i.e. at 5:00 PM.

Tiny. Extremely tiny zigzag path. No animals in the trees to be found as it's so busy. Save your money and just walk in nature. This attraction would be worth about €2.
