Fairy Tale Park Laichingen on the Swabian Jura
At the Zwergental Fairy Tale Park in Laichingen-Machtolsheim on the Swabian Jura, fairy tales and animals go hand in hand. Along the circular trail of this family-run business, there are 13 little fairy-tale cottages where, at the push of a button, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, and other well-known tales are told. The park is mainly aimed at children aged 2 to 10.
Circular trail, Raupenzügle and barbecue area
Along the way, rabbit and goat enclosures bring the walk to life. One ride on the Ponyhof Express or the Raupenzügle is included in admission for children aged 2 to 10. On the large playground, kids can climb and swing, while you can light a fire at the big barbecue area or enjoy a drink in the beer garden. Even on hot summer days, you’ll find plenty of shady spots in the fairy-tale forest and around the playground.
By the way, the farm’s ponies are now enjoying a well-earned retirement, so pony rides are no longer offered. Admission is a flat €4 per person from age 2. Payment is cash only; card payments aren’t possible. Open from April to October. Closed on Mondays. If a public holiday falls on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, the park is open.

Went there yesterday with our 4 year old son. Spontaneously and without reading the reviews here first. It's nicely done with the fairy tales in the houses. The little ones also enjoyed the train ride and the caterpillar ride. For 8€ pony rides, with the beautiful route, easily 20-25 minutes, you can't say anything at all. The pony we had ran a bit briskly, but it was great to lead and everything was very relaxed. Had bad experiences there. The operator himself could be a bit friendlier, that's true. But when you consider what kind of work this whole farm does and that you don't get rich with the prices, I can understand him to a certain extent. Kiosk with coffee, cakes and drinks and ice cream also has very reasonable prices. 👍 The playground with a large, new knight's castle is also nice and shady. We will come back in any case. A nice day trip if you don't expect attractions like in an amusement park for little money.
Nice family driven Ponyhof. Here are small ponies as well as horses for small and big children. Separate entrance to the fairytale world which also contains small and big trains for children. The big train usually is run every half an hour and the next running time is written on the board. Outside there is also a playground, place for a picnic and a small cafe.
In the middle of nowhere its a nice place to find, happens to enthrall kids with the ponies it offers. One has to be little bit animal friendly as one has to catch hold of the pony's reign with a kid atop and take for a short walk
Nice Ponys and beautiful landscape. You can enjoy a beer in the beer garden and children can play on the playground.
It's a really nice place for small kids to spend up to 3-4 hours inside, on riding ponies, discovering fairytales and riding a small train.
