The Märchenpark Salzwedel in the Altmark combines garden dreams with fairy tales. If you love both, this is the place for you. Between the Castle of Fairy Tales, the fortress, and the legends of the Altmark, you’ll stroll through the fragrance garden path, the rose arbor walkway, and the Asian Garden. The Maze of Life takes you on a journey from birth to paradise.

Play barn, Elf Café, and barbecue areas

For rainy days, there’s the play barn, an indoor playground for romping, climbing, and sliding, with homemade food at the Gnome Café. In the park itself, the Elf Café invites you to take a break, and if you prefer to grill yourself, rent one of the barbecue areas. Minigolf, a craft house, and the Max and Moritz pranks are also part of the grounds. Dogs are not allowed in the park, but free, lockable dog shelters are available at the entrance.

Open year-round: from April to October daily from 10 AM to 7 PM, including holidays. From November to March, the park is closed on Mondays; otherwise it opens in the afternoon and all day on weekends. From 5 PM onward, you save 20% with the evening ticket. Special rates apply for school trips and groups of 10 or more. Celebrations and weddings are possible upon request.
