The tree house hotel Altjessnitz is located in the Mulde floodplain of Saxony-Anhalt and lives up to its name: “Dreaming among the trees”. The house on stilts is embedded in nature four meters above the ground and has the shape of a cocoon, lined with spruce and Swiss stone pine on the inside and larch on the outside. The smell of Swiss stone pine wood immediately draws you into another world as you enter, and the panoramic window, which offers a direct view of the green Mulde floodplain, does the rest. If you are looking for a little break where everyday life really fades away, this tree house is a very real candidate.
On 25 square meters, you will find an air-conditioned sleeping area with a comfortable double bed and a living area with a bunk bed for two more people, so there is space for up to four guests in total. A spacious terrace with an electric barbecue and seating lounge invites you to sit outside, and a suspension bridge connects the tree house to the grounds. Cooking in the traditional sense is not possible, but a fully automatic coffee machine with coffee beans, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, egg stove, crockery and cutlery are available. For a relaxed start to the day, you can also pre-order a breakfast package with regional products.
The sauna barrel on the premises can be used free of charge by all tree house guests, bathrobe and sauna towels included. Towels, bed linen and final cleaning are included in the overnight price anyway. The tree house is open all year round and is pleasantly warm even in winter thanks to the air conditioning. The surrounding area is worth a visit at any time of year: the Mulde floodplain is ideal for walks and bike rides, Lake Goitzsche near Bitterfeld is not far away, and the cities of Dessau, Halle, Lutherstadt Wittenberg and Leipzig are all within easy reach.
