At the Fairy Tale Zoo Ratingen near Düsseldorf, animals and fairy tales come together. The ponies Paul and Caspar and the goats look forward to being fed by you. Animal feed is available for €1 at the entrance, while Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, Aladdin and his friends smile at the raccoon gang that greets you there.
The Fairy Tale Zoo is a small, family-friendly destination. While the kids play in the large sandbox and set sail, you can sit together comfortably and unpack your packed lunch. Children’s birthday parties can be celebrated here together with Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella. Your dog is warmly welcome. Please keep on a leash out of consideration for the animals.
Open Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 6 PM, on weekends and holidays from 10 AM. Important for planning: Only cash payment is possible. The circular path has no steps, but one section is difficult to pass with a wheelchair or walker due to raised tree roots.

Very nice and cute. I can recommend IT for small children.
This zoo is for family with young kids. The kids would love to feed goats and pigs, and would love to pet ponies. There are some exotic birds and cute bunnies too. The mountain terrain and the folk tales theme further enhances the charm. Beware, it is all fun and good if you are with kids, otherwise it might feel quite childish and simple.
Sweet little place to spend some time with toddlers and preschoolers.
I like the idea of a fairy tale zoo a lot and for little kids it is also interesting. Those who know the failry tales are having fun recognising the beloved stories and the smallest ones can just run around and enjoy the playground as well as feeding the goats. But as I have been there at least 3 times within 3 years, the place has not had single changes. It is literally falling apart. The houses with the figures have not been painted, the fences are shabby, I would say even a little bit dangerous by Red Riding Hood house. Everything looks simply worn out. I can understand that upkeep costs money but at least small things every season could be done to feel that its actually taken care of.
Great place for small children, with big playground and a lot of attractions. Peacocks are walking right next to visitors. Entrance fee is around couple of euros.
