Märchenpark Heiligenstadt in Eichsfeld

Description

Märchenpark Heiligenstadt at the Leineaue

Märchenpark Heiligenstadt is a free attraction in Thuringia’s Eichsfeld region, right next to the Vitalpark in the Leineaue of Heilbad Heiligenstadt. On 2,600 square meters, you’ll encounter characters from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Rapunzel, Puss in Boots, the Hare and the Hedgehog, and the Frog Prince, plus there’s a small fairy tale castle to admire.

Splash, dig, and roll marbles

Besides exploring the fairy tales and reading at the stations, there’s plenty of choice for play. Paddling pools for hot days, a sandbox, a marble run, and lots of play equipment. During the summer months, stories are read at the fairy tale castle on four Sundays. The tourist information office provides the dates.

Admission is free. Open from mid-April to October daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. If the park is unexpectedly closed, the reception at the neighboring Vitalpark can help. The visit can be easily combined with Heiligenstadt’s spa promenade and the Vitalpark.

A great little free fairytale park. There's lots for children to see and different fairytales to discover. Some fairytales are also read aloud. Unfortunately, the playground isn't great. There's only a sandbox with a sunshade. This could be improved; then it would be perfect.

A beautiful, well-maintained park with fairy tales, a marble run, a sandbox, and a paddling pool. It's great for keeping younger children entertained. Definitely worth a visit! 👍🏼😍

A beautifully and lovingly designed fairytale park. While not large, it's always worth a visit for children. I highly recommend this park; admission is free.
