Märchenwald Isartal is an amusement park in Wolfratshausen, south of Munich. Between the trees, different stations tell the stories of Snow White, Cinderella, Mother Hulda, Little Red Riding Hood, the Frog Prince, and even Ali Baba. Admission is an all-inclusive ticket price: all attractions, rides, and facilities are included.
In addition to the fairy-tale stations, you can ride the train, the Hare-and-Hedgehog Railway, the Oachkatzelbahn, or the vintage cars. The brave can ride the Wildsaureitbahn and the Indianer-Reitbahn. There’s also a playground, climbing garden, labyrinth, magic village, and the forest school. The rides run every 15 minutes; at weekends and during Bavarian school holidays they run continuously. At the snack kiosk with beer garden, you can refuel in between.
The park is open daily from eight days before Easter until the third Sunday in October, from 9 AM to 6 PM, with last entry at 4 PM. The park only closes in persistent heavy rain. Children under 85 cm tall get in free, and anyone up to age 14 whose birthday falls during the winter closure can celebrate for free in the week before Easter. Dogs are not allowed in the park. For children’s birthday parties, there are reservable birthday treehouses.

Great place to visit if you have children between 2 and 8. Stories are told in the houses in english and german. Some rides are great for even toddlers. Not too expensive for a day visit and except for food everything else is included in the price. I daresay, I enjoyed some of the rides too.
Was not expecting much. We had a great time with our 4yo despite a slight downpour. Stories in German and English. Rides were fantastic for smaller kids.
Fantastic place to go for the whole family. We loved it. Similar rides can be found in Europa Park, but of course this is on a much smaller scale and with limitations. Can’t wait to go back.
Really nice park, the kids really enjoyed it. The stories inside the houses were only in German from what I saw, I would add in English as well.
Real fairytale. Great fun park for kids 3-8 years old. Our two enjoyed it a lot. There are a lot of fun stuff to do here. You pay an entry ticket and then the kids can take on all rides. There are some that can not be used if raining so plan your visit according to the weather. Lots of trains, swings, cosmic ship and other stuffs. A couple of playgrounds. Lots of fairytales to start, watch and listen...like puppet theatre. If you are in Bavaria with kids then this is a must!
