For decades, the Saalburg Fairytale Forest has offered a holiday experience for families, especially for the little ones. The adventure park is located near Saalburg-Ebersdorf at the Bleiloch Dam in Thuringian Vogtland. Its heart consists of over 40 partly voiced and animated fairytale figures, and over the years, the park has grown into a diverse adventure park.
A small zoo with fallow deer, llamas, and dwarf rabbits is part of it, as is the popular nature trail with life-sized animal replicas. There are birds and 100 riddle boards where you can find the answer under the flap. Brand new are the dinosaurs in the park, especially a walking, dancing baby dino that greets visitors. For riding fun, there are a zip line, slides, water vehicles, bumper cars, and the new railway. The few rides cost 50 cents to €1 per ride, and admission for children is deliberately kept low.
On selected days, the Choo-Choo train will take you from the parking lot to the park for free. There is a dedicated food offering, and you can bring your pets, whether dog, cat, or mouse. It is open from April 1 to October 31, Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 AM to 6 PM; Monday is a rest day, except for Easter and Whit Monday. Discounts are available for 2 people or more and for groups of 12 people or more.

Its a good place to bring kids. Place to see the fairytale exibition. Unfortunately all of the Games onside need to be paid separately. They cost around 1 €. Do not miss the Panorama View from the hill as well as the Petting Zoo (Streichelzoo). If you parked at the designated parking area (on the hill), you can either walk down the hill or take the shuttle.
What a great place 🙂 woow. Fascinating for kids ,as well as adults. The only down is not having an English version of each stories. But overall a great experience x
Lovely little world of fairy tales. Quite a few small but cool and unusual rides for the kids. Restaurant on site too and land train between car park and the main site.
Märchenwald is great place to visit with family and kids. Beautiful story scenes and a great zip line 😅
So nice and funny for Kids
