Grüne Wiek: The honeycomb house hostel

The Grüne Wiek tree house hotel is located in Beckerwitz, a small village in northwest Mecklenburg, surrounded by old trees, meadows and flowering wild herbs. Only 800 meters separate you from the natural Baltic Sea beach of Wohlenberger Wiek with its steep coast. The resort is located directly on the Baltic Sea coastal cycle path and offers quiet seclusion for those who want to consciously slow down. In quiet times, deer and rabbits sometimes visit the extensive grounds.

What makes this place special are the six hexagonal honeycomb houses, inspired by the natural pattern of the honeycomb. Each honeycomb house consists of three interconnected honeycombs: an upper sleeping honeycomb with a French double bed and a single bed, a lower sleeping honeycomb with three single beds and a living honeycomb with an extendable table, a bench and stools.

The furnishings are deliberately purist and offer storage space under the beds. Sanitary facilities (showers, toilets, washbasins) are available in the separate communal building, which is heated all year round. The honeycomb houses do not have their own kitchen. The concept is more glamping than a classic tree house hotel.

The Winkelkraut wild herb farm with garden café and mandala bed is located on the grounds. If you wish, you can book additional services such as massages, herbal consultations or energy work on site. The honeycomb houses can be booked in three price categories: Basic (bring your own sleeping equipment, from 99 euros), Comfort (made-up beds and towels, from 129 euros) and HealthPlus (with wellness extras, from 179 euros). Nearby attractions include Bothmer Castle in Klütz, the Hanseatic city of Wismar with its brick Gothic architecture and Schwerin with its castle and museums.
