If you’re looking for a break high up in the treetops and want to breathe in the fresh North Sea air, the Otterndorf tree house hotel is the place for you. The stilt house hotel is located on a 1.4-hectare site surrounded by old trees in the far north of Germany, right next to the Otterndorf Three Lakes area and close to the Elbe dyke. From your houses, the view sweeps across green meadows towards the dyke, and if you’re lucky, you can watch the large container ships following their routes behind the earth embankment on the Elbe. The site itself is car-free. The cars stay at the entrance, and from there, nature is yours.
There are a total of nine tree houses on the site, each at a height of 4 meters, each with its own bird name and a corresponding information picture inside. The houses are available in two construction types and three color schemes, making each one unique.
Inside you will find a full range of facilities: double bed, cozy sofa area, pantry kitchen, private bathroom, heating, WiFi, TV and a wood-burning stove, whose firewood is included in the price. The 10 m² outdoor terrace at a height of 2.50 meters is equipped with its own beach chair. Bed linen and towels are of course also included.
You will also find binoculars and a bird identification book in each house. If you want even more nature, you can reserve the free tree house in the tree on the grounds: a simple sleeping adventure for two people without electricity or insulation, with sleeping bag and sleeping mat.
Features Overview:
And so that water sports enthusiasts also get their money’s worth: The hotel’s own canoes and its own jetty at the Three Lakes area can be used free of charge by all guests. There is also a campfire site and a forest bath in the spirit of Shinrin Yoku, i.e. a time-out in the forest to recharge your batteries. The Elbe cycle path runs right next to the hotel, and a bike rental shop is within walking distance. How about a Baumhauthotel voucher for your loved ones?
Stilt houses
The nine regular stilt houses are designed for up to 4 people and offer 30 m² of living space at a height of 4 meters plus a 10 m² terrace with a beach chair. There are pet-free and pet-friendly houses, so you can choose the right nest for you when booking. Children under the age of 6 are not recommended by the operator, but older children are very welcome.
House Pheasant
Haus Fasan is the hotel’s barrier-free offer. It is located on a small wheelchair-accessible hill on the grounds and can accommodate up to 6 people. It is therefore also suitable for larger families or multi-generational groups. The facilities are the same as in the other houses. However, access is possible without stairs.

A special holiday, a fantastic treehouse with beautiful, well-maintained furnishings.Very clean and comfortable, with a view of the dike and the large ships from Haus Blaumeise. A great starting point for walks or canoe trips on the lakes right next door. Restaurants are within easy walking distance. The view from the large windows is a real highlight. We found it very cozy and relaxing over New Year's!

We spent five wonderful days at the treehouse hotel, and it won't be our last visit. Our 6-year-old had a blast, and besides the beautifully furnished treehouse and the fantastic view, we especially enjoyed the canoe trip. The canoes are available free of charge, and the lakeside scenery was a wonderful excursion. We also highly recommend the picnic basket, which welcomes you with delicious treats. The walk to the sea was also wonderful. Thanks to the entire team for the unforgettable stay!

I spent five days over New Year's with my dog in one of the treehouses and we had a really lovely time. The treehouse is very cozy and very well equipped. The only thing is, you should bring your own thinner wood for the fireplace so you can actually get it lit. We'll definitely be back! 😊

We stayed at the treehouse hotel for four nights during our autumn break.(One adult, one child, age 6)The location is fantastic, and the house is beautifully furnished. The view of the pasture and the animals, and even the occasional large puffin passing by, was wonderful. My son and I ate more or less the entire week from the picnic basket for two 😄 – it was truly plentiful. There's plenty to explore nearby, and Bremerhaven, for example, isn't far away.Unfortunately, a horse-drawn carriage ride on the mudflats wasn't possible because Neuwerk was practically deserted by that time of year. What a shame! We'll have to come back another time of year 😊We would definitely come back!
