Treehouses on the Way of St. James
On the edge of a mixed pine forest in Baden-Württemberg, the Rosenberg Treehouse Hotel is waiting for you with an overnight experience that quickly makes you forget everyday life. Located right on the Franconian-Swabian Way of St. James, the site near Rosenberg, close to Ellwangen, offers a real break in nature. When you sit on your terrace in the morning and take in the forest around you, you’ll quickly understand why this treehouse hotel was the first of its kind in Baden-Württemberg and still attracts guests from all over Germany today.
There are 7 treehouses on the site with a total of 29 beds. The cabins come in three sizes: five 4-person houses, each with a double bed and two bunk beds; one 6-person house with a double bed and four bunk beds; and a cosy 3-person cabin with a double bed and a single bed. Each treehouse is electrically heated, has running water, plenty of power outlets, and its own terrace with a parasol. A fire pit with a barbecue area, including free barbecue accessories, is also included. In each cabin you’ll also find a Nespresso machine with capsules, a kettle, and a selection of tea and cappuccino powder.
For bathroom facilities, you use the amenities at the neighbouring Waldcamping Hüttenhof campsite, just a few steps away. The treehouse hotels themselves only have composting toilets. If you like, you can have a breakfast basket delivered to your treehouse in the morning. There are three options to choose from: from a small breakfast starting at €8 per person to a sparkling-wine breakfast for €15 per person. Around the site you’ll find three swimming ponds, the Way of St. James invites you to go hiking, and the region is easy to explore by bike. Pets are very welcome, and if you’d like to give a stay as a gift, you’ll also find vouchers on the website.
Pets can be brought along at no extra charge. As the reception is only manned on an hourly basis, a code for the key safe is provided when booking. Arrival is therefore flexible. Payment in advance only, as there is no one on site to collect payment.

Sehr schön hier
Als Geburtstagsgeschenk für unsere beiden Kinder war die Übernachtung im Baumhaus Nr 2 ganz wunderbar - beste Aussicht aufs Tal, köstlicher Frühstückskorb (wir hatten 2x klein, 2x Standard) und auch die Toilette samt Holzstückchen war eine neue Erfahrung. Alles in allem ganz zauberhaft, würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen!
Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt. Nur das Wetter war nicht so schön. Aber dafür kann ja keiner was. Das Baumhaus super schön, sauber mit Kaffeemaschine und allem was man braucht. Tolles Frühstück. Himmlische Ruhe. Umgebung super zum Wandern oder Radfahren. Wir kommen wieder.
Es war einizigartig!nWir hatten wunderbare 4 Nächte im Baumhaus. Mit 5 Personen im 6er-Baumhaus war es zwar teilweise ziemlich eng, aber es ging auf jeden Fall in Ordnung.nDas Haus war sauber und ordentlich, täglich kam eine Reinigungskraft um dort grob für etwas Ordnung zu sorgen.nnDie Bio-Toilette war zunächst wirklich sehr befremdlich, aber mit der Zeit hat man sich dran gewöhnt und es war völlig in Ordnung. Wir konnten keinen unangenehmen Geruch wahrnehmen.nAchtung: Das Wasser im Waschbecken ist nicht zum Trinken geeignet. Es gibt lediglich eine begrenzte Menge, da es täglich in einem kleinen Tank wieder aufgefüllt wird.nnMit dem Frühstück sind wir auch sehr zufrieden gewesen. Die Auswahl an Aufstrichen, Obst und Gemüse war mehr als ausreichend und wir sind immer sehr satt geworden. Eines der Highlights war es, den Frühstückskorb jeden Morgen zum Baumhaus am Seil hochzuziehen ☺️nnFür Kinder und Jugendliche gibt es etwas weiter oben gelegen eine Seilbahn und eine Nestschaukel (auf eigene Gefahr). Unten am Eingang zu den Baumhäusern gibt es genügend Bänke und eine Hollywood-Schaukel, auf der man perfekt den Sonnenuntergang anschauen kann. 🌇nnAußerdem gibt es einen Gemeinschaftskühlschrank und eine Tiefkühltruhe, aus denen man zu günstigen Preisen Eis und gekühlte Getränke kaufen kann. Man kann auch private Dinge dort kühlen. Eine Spüle ist direkt daneben.
