Climbing in Lörrach at the Erlebniskletterwald

In the tri-border region, right in the forest near Lörrach, the Erlebniskletterwald Lörrach offers a very special kind of outdoor adventure—just a stone’s throw from the Swiss and French borders. The highlight: more than 30 zip lines spanning over a kilometer in total, letting you whizz through the treetops. Whether you’re visiting solo, as a family, or with a group—whether little climbing monkeys or brave adults—here you’ll experience the forest from above in a whole new way, with plenty of fun and personal discovery in nature.

From the kids’ course to the ultra-long zip-line course

The youngest climbers from around age 3 (with a minimum reach height of 1.20 m) can gain their first experience on the kids’ course with around 20 elements—fully secured and supervised by an adult. If you’re at least 1.40 m tall and about 8 years old, you can take on the fun course: around 100 elements at heights of 1 to 10 meters, spread across the starter, spider web, master, power & balance, partner, and the ultra-long zip-line course with nearly 20 zip lines. For its quality in service, comfort, and safety, the park has already been awarded the IAPA Gold Seal of Approval (4 stars).

Around the central hut with check-in, kiosk, and restrooms, you’ll find six rustic picnic tables for a relaxing break—parking and the bus stop are just a stone’s throw away. The Erlebniskletterwald is also a popular destination for kids’ birthday parties, school trips, and company events, and the atmospheric moonlight climbing turns your group outing into a real highlight. Please note: at the moment, only cash payment is possible on site, and an online reservation saves you money and waiting time.

The parcours is in Lörrach, in the middle of the forest close to the Swiss and German Border. Guaranteed fun for the young at heart. The first thing that impresses at this adventure park is the high safety standards. Everyone has to undergo the short but compulsory safety course first. This is done right at the entrance before approaching the course. The parcours is regularly monitored by friendly and patient instructors.Plenty of Zip-lines are available with three varying difficulties distributed over five parcours. Trying all of them will take about three hours. It is recommended to take sufficient amount of drinking water along.

I will definitely recommend this place 🙂 Friendly staff, whether on the phone or in person, are friendly, patient and professional, ensuring we mastered all the skills before starting the game. When my friend got stuck midway, the staff came to help her safely out. It's also conveniently accessible by public transport from Basel city center, with restrooms and lockers available, which is great for those not driving. Just one final tip: if you're coming from Switzerland, it's best to exchange some euros in advance. 🙂

FINALLY a place where we could all do some activity, including our 4 year old. A special thanks to the owner and the guy who built the place, sadly I don't know your name. He helped me make a reservation over the phone after letting me know it would save me a few euros, he greeted us very nicely when we arrived, we felt very welcome and safe in the hands of the staff who were skillful and knowledgeable, and also thanks to Bianca for the great instructions. You guys did a terrific job there. Thanks!

Not suitable for inexperienced ropes course participants. Their zip lines are extremely hazardous due to the pulley/brake system riders must keep a hand on while riding the line. Our 13 year old son got his finger caught in the brake, which stopped him completely on the line, his full body weight crushing his finger in the pulley. His finger was broken and sliced wide open, resulting in a visit to the emergency room and the hand specialist for surgery. There are plenty of safer, better zipline rigs out there. This company should update its equipment.

Great high-roping venue with multiple courses of varying difficulty in nice beech forest. Very reasonable prices. Picnic tables to use for eg. kids birthdays etc.
